LEMAŃCZYK / GOLICKI / SARNECKI TRIO FEAT. JACQUES SÉGUIN ON TOUR IN CANADA
From April 4–14, 2026, the Lemańczyk / Golicki / Sarnecki Trio will perform in Canada. The band will promote their debut album “NYC Session”. During the Canadian tour, the band will be joined by outstanding Canadian trumpeter Jacques Kuba Séguin. The tour takes place as part of the international JAZZ PO POLSKU “Around the World” project.
The trio was formed in 2023 and consists of acclaimed, award-winning Polish musicians recognized on international stages: Rafał Sarnecki (electric guitar), Piotr Lemańczyk (bass guitar), and Adam Golicki (drums). During the Canadian tour, the band will be joined by outstanding Canadian trumpeter Jacques Kuba Séguin. His expressive style perfectly complements the trio’s European sensibility and modern sound. The artists will perform repertoire from the album “NYC Session” as well as Séguin’s original compositions.
The tour will begin on April 4 in Montreal at Diese Onze Jazz Club, followed by a performance on April 5 in the seaside city of Halifax at The Peggy Corkum Music Room. On April 8, the musicians will conduct workshops for students at Cégep Saint-Laurent in Montreal. From April 9–12, the quartet will perform in Coquitlam at Evergreen Cultural Centre, in Edmonton at the Kopernik Club, and in Calgary at the Polish Canadian Cultural Center. The tour will conclude on April 14 with a concert in Saskatoon at The Bassment.
The concert tour will also include a screening of the JAZZ PO POLSKU film “Around the World,” which will take place on April 8 at the J.A. De Seve cinema. Directed by Maciej Głowiński, the film is a musical documentary about the adventures of young Polish jazz musicians performing in the most remote corners of the world. It is also a story about the art of improvisation, friendship, and the never-ending journey that continually accompanies the film’s protagonists.
Lemańczyk / Golicki / Sarnecki Trio music can be described as mainstream jazz, often drawing from rock expression and sophisticated harmony. In addition to Mike Stern, the trio has collaborated with artists such as Randy Brecker and Grażyna Auguścik, performing a dozen concerts in Poland and the USA. In January 2024, the trio recorded an album in New York, featuring Mike and Leni Stern. Spring 2025 has seen the band performed a JAZZ PO POLSKU „Around the world” concert tour in China and Japan, consist of 21 concerts in bigest cities.
Together, Sarnecki, Lemańczyk, and Golicki form a symbiotic relationship on stage, engaging in spirited musical dialogues and pushing each other to new heights of creativity. Whether exploring original compositions or reimagining jazz standards, their performances are marked by spontaneity, virtuosity, and a deep respect for the tradition of jazz. With their unparalleled musicianship and infectious chemistry, the trio continues to captivate audiences around the globe, forging a legacy as one of the most exciting and innovative ensembles in contemporary jazz.
The organizer of the JAZZ PO POLSKU “Around the World” project is the JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation. The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund. Partners of the Canadian concerts include the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Canada, the Polish-Canadian Jazz Association and the Polish-Canadian Society of Nova Scotia. Masashi Usui is an award-winning, Japan-based saxophonist, composer, arranger, and MARCA
Reeds Saxophone Gold Artist, celebrated for his luminous tone and for bringing contemporary
freshness to the traditions of American jazz. He has released multiple albums recorded in both
Japan and North America and has authored several educational books. His most recent
recording - an intimate duo session with pianist Phillip Strange - features a full set of original compositions.
For this concert, Usui joins Montreal musicians, pianist Kate Wyatt and bassist Adrian Vedady,
to perform a program of jazz standards and works written by all three artists. Fresh from their
upcoming tour of Japan, the trio will bring a deep musical rapport and a shared commitment to
creative, interactive improvisation.
Join these three master musicians for an evening of nuanced, deeply communicative jazz.

Since it’s début performance in 1998, the Joe Sullivan Big Band has become a major presence on the Canadian jazz scene. The group’s growing list of accomplishments includes numerous concert appearances, radio broadcasts and four critically acclaimed CD recordings. The group has received numerous grants from the Canadian and Québec arts councils and was twice nominated for a Prix Opus. The ensemble is anchored by one of Canada’s finest rhythm sections in André White (piano) Alec Walkington (bass) and Dave Laing (drums). It also features an all-star cast of Quebec’s top jazz soloists, including Lorne Lofsky, Al Mclean, André Leroux, Aron Doyle, Dave Grott and Jean-Nicholas Trottier. The band performs from a large and varied repertoire of contemporary jazz compositions, principally by Sullivan and Jean Fréchette.
