Marquee artist of the month
PAUL BROCHU

Paul Brochu, widly acclaimed as one of Canada’s top drummers, started playing drums at the age of 7. By the time he was 13, Paul was taking private lessons with Roger Juneau. Shortly after graduating from the Conservatory with a Master’s degree in percussion, Paul joined Montreal based Jazz-Fusion group UZEB. Between tours and the recording of UZEB albums, Mr. Brochu maintained a busy schedule. As a sought after session player his artfull playing contributed to an impressive number of jingles, albums, television shows, radio broadcasts and film soundtracks. He has lent his drumming and musical skills to a who’s who of Canadian and French Artists and he has performed with such jazz notables. These days, he continues to perform all over the world with Gino Vannelli, within both the regular touring band and Vannelli’s special appearances with some of the finest symphony orchestras. He also performs on tour with Gregory Charles. Although consistently busy on the performing front, he manages to find the time to share his musical knowledge with students at Université de Montréal.
