YANNICK RIEU QUARTET

Composer and tenor saxophonist Yannick Rieu is one of the finest musicians - in any genre of music - to have emerged from Québec, and one who’s also enjoyed an international career for many years, particularly in France. As early as 1988, Down Beat, the American bible of jazz, ranked him amongst the 20 most promising sax players in the world alongside Branford Marsalis, Joe Lovano and Courtney Pine. Since then, he’s been collecting rave reviews in jazz publications in the U.S., France and Canada for his recordings and his live performances.

Autodidact with an unusual profile, Chrystelle Maechler, a jazz singer from France, made her first steps in the traditional jazz and swing world. Discovered in 2002, she performed in various clubs across Germany, Switzerland and Quebec. ECT4 est le projet jazz du guitariste et compositeur Eric Couture-Telmosse. Son objectif premier est de créer une musique honnête et excitante qui rafraichit le corps et l’esprit. MALIKA TIROLIEN TRIO

Malika Tirolien had the chance to play with great musicians such as reknown pianist Luc Beaugrand and Grégory Charles. She also participated in several television screenings of François Morency as a background vocalist. Now having the jazz vocabulary and having rejoined her first passion RnB, Malika henceforth hopes to set up agroup of compositions mixing these two styles. Recently, she linked with Montreal’s Kalmunity Vibe Collective and has delivered astonishing performances during their sessions of live organic improvisation. Her ear and musical direction, mixed with her hotand sensual voice will ensure her a unique place among the finest of vocalists and composers.

Jean-Christophe Béney est un saxophoniste et compositeur parisien installé à Montréal depuis deux ans. Il collabore avec beaucoup de musiciens très actifs sur la scène locale du jazz. Il a sorti trois albums sur le label Effendi Records, dont le dernier, Pop Up, en octobre 2007. Pianist, composer, songwriter and arranger, Matt Herskowitz has distinguished himself in several musical genres. As a pianist, he's released several solo albums, most notably his recent release entitled Matt Herskowitz Plays Gershwin, featuring his own solo pianoarrangements of Gershwin's Concerto in F and Cuban Overture, as well asthe great Rhapsody in Blue.
